In an earlier article, we told Windows 7 users how they could customize the Windows login screen by changing a registry key. Thankfully, there is now a quick and simple program called Account Screen Editor created by Bart Ubing which can change your login screen with just a few clicks.

When you run the program, select your language and then just click Set Background to browse for the picture you want to use. If it’s too big, the program will ask you if you want to resize it, even though the quality may be decreased. The only problem with this program is that if you are using a custom theme for Windows 7 that makes the bottom part of the program transparent, you may have trouble reading the button labels. If this is the case, either change your theme while you use Account Screen Editor, or set your desktop background to something dark and use the program on top of the desktop.
